Men, you are invited to take part in a two-day, one-night adventure to the Sipsey Wilderness in northwest Alabama that combines hiking and camping along the trail with Bible study. We will unplug from technology, seek some adventure, hang out by the campfire, and spend some time with the Creator in His creation. No previous backpacking experience is required.
Our destination for this adventure will be Bee Branch Canyon and the famous Big Tree in the Sipsey. The Sipsey Wilderness is forested canyon area with many streams and waterfalls. It will be an approximately 12 mile there-and-back hike. The route is relatively flat and smooth, though there are a few downed trees to hop over. Anyone in decent shape should have no problem. Some loaner gear is available for those new to backpacking.
We will leave Montgomery at 9 a.m. on Friday, November 1, and return Saturday evening. All participants must sign a waiver, pay for the trip, and commit to attend a pre-trip meeting the week before the trip to go over all the details and check our gear.
The cost is $20 per person which includes rental van transportation and a meal at the camp site. You must pay when you register.
