Our worship services focus on praising God through our songs, prayers, and response to His Word, the Bible.
Services are approximately 75 minutes long (10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.).
The sermons are about 30 minutes in length. We primarily preach verse by verse through books of the Bible (something you may hear called expository preaching), with occasional topical studies weeks to help us grow in a particular area of following Christ.
Presently, we are studying verse-by-verse through the Gospel of Luke to help us see and savor Jesus.
We recently completed a year-long series in Genesis, and previously a study of 1 Peter. Over the past seven years years we have studied James, the Psalms, Ephesians, the Gospel of John, and a year long journey through the New City Catechism that we called Rooted.
We use the English Standard Version (ESV) of the Bible in our worship services.
Our praise time in song typically includes four congregational songs during the service. Words will be on the screen for you. Our songs tend to be more contemporary in feel, but also very theological and focused on glorifying God. We post on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter our worship service order each week so you can reflect on the text and even think about song lyrics before you arrive.
People tend to dress more casually at Gateway. You may see a few people in "Sunday dress," but most come in business casual, with some very casual as well!
