CANCELLATION OF ALL ACTIVITIES ON CAMPUS THROUGH MAY 17
Update: April 28, 2020
Gateway Family,
As you probably have heard, Governor Ivey has instituted a “safer in place” policy that goes through Friday, May 15. That policy includes restrictions that continue to prohibit church worship services and that prohibit gatherings of more than 10 people during this period.
As such, Gateway will continue to have no on-campus activities during this time, including Sundays May 3, 10, and 17.
Even though the current government order does not include Sunday, May 17, we are including it in our plans. If some of the restrictions possibly are lifted at that time, there likely will be others given. We will need time to make sure we are prepared for those requirements, which cannot adequately be followed on just a few days notice.
During these additional weeks, we will continue to provide for you:
- Full worship services online each Sunday (May 3, 10, and 17). They will be streamed at 10:30 a.m. for those who would like to participate at the same time as us. They also will be available anytime after that if another time is better for you.
- Weekly “Kids Club at Home” teaching, videos, and resources from our Kids Ministry
- Access to Gateway’s business Zoom account so small groups, or groups of Gateway friends, can meet online without the restrictions that come from the free version
Also, some of you have indicated you are feeling more comfortable being with others.
Realize that the government restrictions do not limit gatherings of 10 or less people. If you would like to begin to gather with others from Gateway for prayer, encouragement, or fellowship, please feel free to initiate doing so! Some of you also may want to consider getting together in homes to worship together during our Sunday online worship services. Feel free to pursue those small group type gatherings as you feel comfortable doing so.
Remember, the Gateway Connect directory and the Gateway Community Facebook group are good tools to help you connect with one another.
Do you have any needs?
As the coronavirus trial continues, if you have prayer requests, physical needs, or financial needs, please contact us to let us know.
Your church family wants to help!
My heart is sad that we cannot meet together for several more weeks. However, we will continue to pray for one another and seek to encourage one another during this season, trusting that God will continue to grow us and mature us as we walk through this trial together.
Blessings,
Pastor Grady
