Men, you are invited to take part in a two-day, one-night weekend adventure along a portion of the scenic Pine Mountain Trail in west Georgia that combines hiking and camping along the trail with Bible study. We will unplug from technology, seek some adventure, hang out by the campfire, and spend some time with the Creator in His creation.
No previous backpacking experience is required, and some loaner gear is available for those new to backpacking.
Space for this trip is limited to 15 people. Because of the limited space, this trip is reserved for those ages 13 and up. Advance registration is required (see below). The cost is $20 which includes van transportation to and from the trail, and dinner and breakfast at the camp site.
We will hike "the Big Poplar Loop," an 8-mile route that encompasses parts of the Pine Mountain Trail and the Sawtooth Trail, which is located in F.D. Roosevelt State Park in Georgia close to Callaway Gardens. The Pine Mountain Trail is a hilly, mountainous area. The route does include some elevation changes, including descents and uphill sections. It is rated as moderate. Click here to learn more about the trail.
Advanced registration is required for this event. In addition, some loaner gear is available for those new to backpacking.
